Sara Ramirez

Sara Ramirez has been a Mexican American performer, actress and songwriter for a number of years. As a child, Sara was racially taunted by American citizens of all races. When she attended a 9th grade school audition, where she received praises for her voice, she started to build confidence. The event not only helped the confidence of her, but also altered her outlook on the future. At the age of 22, she graduated from the New York's Julliard School. She was 23 when she had her first Broadway performance with Paul Simon's The Capeman, and her debut in the film You've got Mail were both major breakthroughs. Her biggest breakthrough was when she starred in the part of The Lady of The Lake in the very first Broadway show Spamalot garnering not only the Tony Award for her performance but also a flurry of praise from critics. Following that, she was cast as Dr. Callie Torres in ABC's Grey's Anatomy. This led to her gain more fame. A singer by profession She has also recorded songs as well as an extensive work. In addition, she has been a vocal advocate for LGBT issues.
