Zoe-perry

Perry is the daughter of actors Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. The role of Jackie Harris was played by her mother in each of her two appearances on Roseanne. But her parents would not permit her to perform until she was an adult because of the negative effects that stress could affect their child. Perry was shy in high-school and was not a performer. Her first acting experience was at Northwestern University to gain friends as she moved from Boston University. Perry, after graduating from Boston University, relocated to New York in search of acting roles on television. She landed small parts in shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. Then, homelessness led her to California in search of theater jobs. In 2013, she was a part of The Other Place on Broadway alongside her mother. In the year 2015, she was alongside Kevin McKidd alongside her mother in Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer-winning Drama Anna Christie. It is part of the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble is located in West Los Angeles. Perry played a role in 9 episodes of The Family, an ABC thriller The Family in 2016. In 2017 she had an recurring role in The ABC Political thriller Scandal with her father. The character she played was the younger Mary Cooper (Sheldon Cooper's mother) in Young Sheldon. This spin-off show of CBS's The Big Bang Theory was another younger portrayal of her mother. She got the part in an audition that was open despite being connected to this role.
